Ah got ya!

I'm agree with you on the power bank rather than another battery! I have an 0801 camera already fitted in the car. The connection is a mini USB. I've also got a large USB power bank knocking around here somewhere. Use it for holidays to charge phones etc. Can't Remember spec but was quite large one.
Gonna dig it out and try it today as a test run before buying bits and ripping car apart Accept, some days your the pigeon, some days your the statue!

Just had a quick look.
The one I have is 13,000mAH Anker unit. Was quite expensive when I brought it a few year ago.

Has 2 USB out 1A and 2A. And mini USB to charge.
Will have a try see how long it lasts.
There's a guy selling a wiring kit on EBay. Neg and Acc live in (fused) and a 3m mini USB out for £8.. I know it's dear for an empty box but by time I buy a 12v lighter socket and USB to lighter socket adapter I may as well grab his kit. Accept, some days your the pigeon, some days your the statue!

Brilliant if you can test to see how long your 13000 would run a camera.

Can you post the eBay link?

. Cheers, Greg

Haven't had chance to try power pack yet as a knocking coming from steering has taken lead in "jobs to do"

But here is the link

Done a bit more window shopping on this...

Thinking about either of these camera systems :

https://www.amazon.co.uk/ACCFLY-Degree-Rec...+rear+1080

or

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-0-I1000-Full-H...Swr~lYtDPx

Not the expensive end of things but:
Both are 1080p, two camera sets. Night vision, wide angle cameras with loop recording and shock sensor.

At this end of the price scale I could have the set up I imagined at the outset: dual cameras with the extended recording supplied by the USB Maplin (or other) powerpack. All for under £100...

Any thoughts appreciated...

. Cheers, Greg

...and this power pack has 12v input and USB out.

So I am thinking this would charge when ignition on and the cameras just run off that..

.. Cheers, Greg

Hi boydonegood, don't suppose you did a test running a camera off your Anker 13000?

. Cheers, Greg
