2012 Headlight delamination of clearcoat?

I have a 2012 l322 headlight that has an area that looks like it has delaminated (looks like liquid damage and the affected area has lots of very light scratching) and I was wondering if anyone knew if the lights have a clearcoat on them that could be polished off and then reapplied. It is odd as the rest of the headlight is clear with no scratching, right up to the very defined edge of the area.

I seem to recall that plastic headlight lenses get an anti UV coating to stop them yellowing from exposure to the sun, not sure if you can reapply though..... ______________________________

Hi Simon,

Having trawled through youtube etc it looks like it could well be failure of the protective clear coat in a certain area. Just seems odd to be in such a specific area with such a defined edge.

One possible solution is to sand the entire headlight cover, polish and then 2k clear coat it afterwards.

Has anyone else had experience of this on range rover plastic headlights? Tom
