England 2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Zambezi Silver
Edd China leaving Wheeler Dealers

It sounds like the Americanising of the show was a step too far for Edd - pity....

A bit of C-Tek and orange glove product placement there.

Glad Ed stuck to his principles and look forward to seeing what he gets up to. Maybe a Full Fat Sofa is on the horizon. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged

This is what happens when the best little shows simply get too popular and the big money men step in...

I think Mike has had Edd 'down the greasy spoon' more often that he needs, however based on what I have seen of Ant Ansteads work so far, he does put out a good restoration, It remains to be seen if that continues, just saying Very Happy

Thats a shame , i thought Ed made the show what it was. Mike ( the tv mike ) has to be the worst car sales man on the planet. He buys cars without his mechanic to inspect them. He then ' sources ' some parts ( 15 mins and a cuppa and then after Ed toils for 3/4 weeks Mike sells them for 4.50 stg profit not allowing for any labour !!!!!!

I appreciate its a tv show but Thunderbirds was more believable Laughing 2015 4.4 AB

Yep, Ed was the best part of the show. Looking forward to what he does next - hopefully all the car stuff without all the 'old out yer and' boll ox.

Big Cry What a shame. Edd and his restorations/repair are what kept me interested. They were good enough to put up with Mike. I did notice that, on the last series, there was more and more repairs that were glossed over. In earlier series, it was almost like having a talking Haynes manual.

Ant Anstead is certainly a great guy and a very skillful mechanic. I like that he and Phillip Glenister did, but I disliked that they never gave enough detail to go from 'interesting' to 'DIY'.

Very disappointing. I hope Edd is back with something new soon. He's an entertainer, mechanic and teacher all rolled into one.

he should start on one of those shopping channels, selling his orange long wristed gloves, he likes. in between jobs, he could be getting his hair blow dried, (for the ladies of course..) and then showing us a great new tool we didnt know we needed.
Seriously though, i'm sure he has been tempted away, and not just left for reasons mentioned, although im in agreeement to his views on his WD show. -format to me was getting boring. The specialist out-sourced jobs, are the best bit, but they never give the name of the company! maybe that's the magic. Maybe, he could do a show, without the typical 'fool the owner', (car SOS) or silly 'pimp my wheels' type of show, just a typical 10 week restoration of a particular everymans' car, like a beetle, a mini or an MGB something that we can learn from, and not just drool over, like an E type.
i do remember a really good show about 20 years ago, 'a car is reborn' still doing the rounds, with the vet surgeon, (mark evans ) doing a restoration, (of an E type!) with snippets of other classics, and his silly faces, and mannerisms, but direct hands on 'everymans' skills made it a great show. he made others too, doing an MGB, and, building a trike, and a helicopter! i think Edd needs a breakthough moment, and could handle a show like this himself!

That's a real shame he was the backbone of the program and the format was smack on and didn't need changing.

Shame. Range Rover quotes.....
