SC05 VWW anyone know it?

Long time lurker looking to replace my Td5 D2 with a full fat supercharged vogue

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/adv...amp;page=1

Seen this one for sale which I'm hoping to view at the weekend, 05 vogue se, ticks most of the boxes, including the metallic grey colour which l really like, and I'm hoping I could live with the interior which looks like grey and black leather autobiography seats and an unusual wood trim for the colour combo

Another thing is that it's a two owner 50,000 mile car which really sounds impressive for a '05, but, when I've put the registration into a car checker app, and even dvla website the registration is listed as an' 05 freelander!

I've spoken to the dealer who assures my that it's correct and that dvla have it incorrect but it's a somewhat slight concern

The car is a local Scottish car, coming from Dundee and originally being supplied by LandRover Cupar, so I was wondering if anyone on here knows of this vehicle?

Cheers

Rob

Low mileage aside, that seems a lot of money for an '05 SC to me, and the dealer, annoyingly, can't spell Vogue.

As it's a crossover model between the BMW and Ford era, you miss out on the centre console changes. Does it have ventilated seats?

Also, unless its my eyes, the RSE looks different. Is that a corollary of the crossover model change?

Not a fan of the wood, but that's irrelevant if you like it.

Nice looking SC, though. Thumbs Up

And, point of note, the SC specification is a trim level in its own right. They may be Vogue SE levels, but there are other additions to the exterior that mean the Supercharged moniker stands slightly above, which is why you don't see any Vogue or VSE badging at all. Si. <This is my name.

I eat rat poison.

A man ain't truly been insulted until he stands buck naked in front of a woman and she didn't even notice. Or care.

Yes, I'm hoping that cash would talk the price down, and that if I don't like the wood trim it can be changed to black.

I know that the centre screen is BMW era but didn't realise that the rear screens could be different either

It's just that I am rather taken with the grey colour rather than every other black or silver ones, the only other grey one I've found recently is on autotrader too, a dealer too, has the black with white piping interior and I'm not too keen on that either

I really like that colour combination but then, I like wood anyway, not a fan of piano black and the likes.

It does seem expensive.

Although you say it ticks some boxes I would suggest the fact there may be a DVLA issue together with you saying you hope you can live with the interior means you should probably keep looking for your ideal fattie rather than "accept" one with compromises.

There will be one out there for you......it's just a matter of time.

Good luck. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

Be careful our system has it as a Green 2005 Freelander....

Two much of a coincidence if it was a mistake for it to be another 2005 Land Rover.

Also means the dealer did not check reg or HPI it before taking it in.

I would steer clear unless DVLA can explain to you how this happened (if it did)

Ask the dealer for a copy of their trade HPI check showing the history of the Range Rover not the Freelander.

Do not buy until you have DVLA records that match the car.

mmmm be very very careful mot history is showing as Green Freelander with over 79500 miles and the MID shows it currently insured as a Freelander XEI. Cloned plates come to mind Whistle

That's why I'm concerned but surely a dealer wouldn't be so silly to advertise a car on a nationwide website with dodgy plates

Rob, to be fair he's a second hand car salesman not an LR dealer and may not necessarily do these checks. Many small second hand traders don't which is why you should always do your own HPI checks. Only costs a few quid and could save you some real heartache. Interestingly He advertisers full dealer facilities yet there is no dealership or showroom at the address given and viewing is by appointment only suggesting the vehicle is stored elsewhere or even parked at his home. For a long established trader there is little info or feedback on t'internet bar 1 negative review; something I would find strange for such a well established company. I don't do facebook so there may be something there and perhaps I'm wrong but strikes me as a little queer

Thanks guy's, you've all made perfectly valid reasons for me to cross this one off my list, l guess I knew myself but just needed a little convincing, the old adage is true, if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

Thank you everyone for their input, I won't waste my time this weekend going to see it and the hunt continues

MOT history says its done 80k at its last ticket in September 2016.

It needs to be HPI'd but it looks like its wearing the wrong set of plates to me.

The VIN Associated with that reg is SALLNAAA75A478667, which according to the website I use is a Freelander XEI petrol.

It could be a private plate transfer that has gone very wrong but this uncertainty on what is an expensive example of a S/C L322 is worrying.
