Could never get mine to work until i watched one of the LR videos.
I too used to do the barn dance move under the car and the boot would never open.
Instead of swiping your foot along the length of the car, try swiping it along the width like you are kicking it.
The sensor seems to be in the middle of the back side of the bumper.
Just do it once, there is a slight delay so be patient, and it works every time

You are right. Watched the video and it works almost all the time thanks. Pity the manual doesn't mention this because I presume people read the hand-book for advice, rather than youtube.

I think the key part of the LR video and something I didn't realise was that it only works if you are stood to the side of the vehicle not directly behind, I guess for safety reasons.

Feel a bit of a plonker now as like others I've watched the LR video & I was doing it wrong, although only doing what was needed to operate said system on different cars. It now works a treat every time. Paul
