No sound from speakers etc

Hi all,
Sound from my radio etc has been a bit on and off the last week, now nothing at all!!
Am I right in assuming that this is controlled by the large black amp in the boot?
I changed this a few months ago as I pinned my old one down to the cause of my battery going flat after a few days (boot is bone dry, ie no leaks!).
No more flat batteries, but the pins on the replacement one were a bit "green", I cleaned them up with contact spray at the time, and have just done so again.
If it does do the sound then I guess I`m going to need another one!
All help appreciated,
Cheers,
rattly

I would try switching the radio on and then wiggling the speaker cable plugs on to of the dsp, black box, and see if your radio comes back on. Mine did when I had the same problem, just cleaned all the plug and socket connections and every thing came back to life and been ok since.

Hi,
Is the dsp the amp that I have changed previously?
Someone else has also mentioned the BM54, the small silver box.
Either way I`ve done the wire wiggling on both to no avail.
If the dsp is the amp then it looks like I need another one!
Cheers,
rattly

Turn the ignition to position 1 (AUX) and look at what's listed of the screen , with the radio off!, in the list you should have DSP... From memory it's on the left hand side 3 row... If it isn't there then it's gone pop again Shocked

Amplifier repair

Mine isn't the DSP just the HSE (standard?) Lear Amplifier which decided not to work. After searching for a replacement, which are quite pricey even on eBay, I found a guy who repairs them & whilst £80 isn't as cheap as doing the repair yourself, but with my soldering skills, well worth the extra! Current RR L322 TDV8 VOGUE
