IID Tool Help

Hi guys got my IID tool today and wanted a quick look through the menus and try make a few changes in CCF menu. Well I think I've cocked something up! I've got a shed load of fault lights on the dash, mainly brake related things. How do I cancel them and reset things. Any help appreciated as ever. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

When you first activate the iiD tool it oes a backup. You could try restoring to see if that is effective. From the tool manual page 141:

"4.10.4 II Recovery procedure
If updating the CCF failed and using of the integrated interface is required (mobile device or PC interface
not used), the IIDTool will be temporarily unable to write on the instrument cluster screen. The
engine will not start, error messages will be displayed on the instrument cluster and a dot will be present
on the odometer display.
The following steps will allow restoring the Car Configuration File when using the integrated interface.
• Disconnect your IIDTool and turn the ignition OFF.
• Turn the ignition ON and connect your IIDTool.
• Wait until all error messages on the instrument pack have cleared. The Voltage is now displayed.
• You can now enter the IIDTool menu.
• Select IIDTool Menu->Save/Restore->Restore Settings->Car CCF or Car CCF PCM (L322-06)
• Once the small dot has disappeared on the odometer screen, turn key to the OFF position.
• L322-02 and L322-06 : Wait until the LED on the left radio button goes off." John

Yes had the car running, selected a couple of things, activated easy entry, changed the towing part to 13 as I fitted a 13 pin socket and proceeded. Car turned itself off and on and ipad said updating etc.

When car came back on all the brake related lights were on the display, reminded me of the three amigos on the D2 if anyone has had a D2

Will try the reset process and take it from there. Hopefully I'll get things sorted out.

Thanks for your replys and help so far. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

If I don't have a battery charger as mentioned in the hand manual, will a battery operated jump pack or jump leads from my other car while it's running do the job?

I did notice the section in the CCF about wheel and tyre sizes.
It reads that my car is on 19's and the original tyre sizes were listed, but it's now on 20's, but the tyre size I'm running is not on the list.

What do I do about that? Just leave it all as standard? Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Out of these towing menus, which of them should I have selected to have my 13 pin socket working correctly, e.g. Reversing sensors turning off etc.

It's probably not related but it was when I changed the wheel size that my CCF file got corrupted. Whistle

Did your car switch itself off? That's unusual, it usually tells you to turn it off and back on. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

The device asks you to turn off the car so it can program the ccf. If you don't turn it off, the iid will turn it off for you. After programming the car, it states next time the car is started, start it, switch off, start it and switch off.

Yes it is scary, but I don't understand why doing what I did had the results I had. Never mind I'm going to leave it till the weekend now and have my other car attached to it via jump leads to keep the battery charged and do things slowly.

I connect my CTEK charger via the towing socket when playing with iid tool and it seems to keep everything happy. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

@Baltic Blue, how do you connect via the towing socket? do you mean via one of the 7 pin 12s or 12n sockets at the rear? Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Stu,
Yes I bought a ready made adapter lead from the forum shop which just plugs into the socket with the white cap.
Dead easy, takes seconds.
