United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Baltic Blue

If you fancy a bit of easy casual cycling, the quiet single track road along the south bank of the Loire near Amboise is fantastic and you can sample a few different Loire whites as you pass the many Caves. (Happy days ) G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

Thanks for all the tips guys!

I'll be finishing work early on Friday - 5PM! Will then head to Folkstone for the 23:55 train, need to be there by 23:25, so won't have time to dilly dally on the way! I've taken on board what you've said about booking somewhere the other side of the tunnel, I can drive all night in the UK, but probably a good idea to tackle the other side of the road with a fresh brain.

I think we're going to aim for the Loire Valley but no further on your advice - although I'd love to see the mountains, they can wait until next time.

It's been 17 years since I got an F in French... This is going to be a trip to remember! Shocked

Just saying Dan but its 6h 54m to Geneva on easy motorway all the way with no A Roads but Loire Valley about 5.5 hours and not a straightforward route...

From Geneva you can be in La Clusaz resort in the mountains in 35 minutes or...

Lake Annecy in 7 hours total

Chamonix in 7h 37m

Morzine/Le Gets in 7h 41m

So if you want Mountains....Whistle

Switzerland is very nice but quite expensive. I agree that the route to the Loire Valley is not a run down the motorway but the route itself is part of the trip and less motorway toll expense. Just an opinion. Very Happy John

I went skiing for a day there last year. Had a day at the Geneva Car Show and then next day hired a car and drove 38 minutes and was in the resort of La Clusaz. Ten minutes to get skis and pass and then spent whole day on slopes before driving back to catch my flight... Thumbs Up

Spot on Weegie - I'm going for the drive Cool No better car for it. Except the fuel bill of course, but if I was that worried I'd take the TD4 Freelander *Insert Vomit Emoji Here*
