Hi Guys,

(edited to change OEM to aftermarket)

I have a little problem with my vehicle in that one of the side steps has rotten and given way at the rear. Its still securely attached as its not the mountings that have failed but the tread which looks like it has been getting water inside to the point it has rotten through. When standing on it to try and manhandle some furniture into the back it gave way (pics below)

I am looking to get it replaced as I do find the step handy when getting in and out but there seems to be a massive difference on price between aftermarket and genuine parts. I wondered if anyone had experience of the aftermarket parts in terms of quality and fit.

OE steps will fit perfectly, after market ones which are much cheaper will fit with maybe a bit of fettling.. ... - .- -.

I have an old one you can have if you want to collect..... can't guarantee how long it will last but it's exactly the same as in your pic....but not bust - obviously.

I replaced with aftermarket on my td6 as my rotund frame stuffed the drivers side over 4 years.... hence passenger side kicking about.....
