P0314-01 Fault Code and Live Test Values

Been getting a shaking at idle on my TD6, so put the IID Tool on this afternoon.
Got the following fault code from the engine ECU

P0314-01 Cylinder Balance Control - l - Component Deviation outside limit

Cleared the fault and checked the live values on the engine. Went into Fuel Comp and got the following values for the cylinders:

Cyl 1: -2 mm3 Cyl 2: +7 mm3 Cyl 3: -2 mm3 Cyl 4: -4 mm3 Cyl 5: -3 mm3 Cyl 6: -1 mm3

Seems something is out with Cylinder 2, but what does 'Fuel Comp' refer to, and what are the values referring to?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cylinder 2 is massively over fuelling, causing your misfire Thumbs Up

Most likely to be an injector at fault, but in some cases, the wiring harness gives similar symptoms.

It could also be a mechanical issue on that cylinder, but this is highly unlikely Thumbs Up

Cheers for that info, much appreciated. Thumbs Up

Thought maybe injector fault, but couldn't work out what the + and - values represented and what the 'Fuel Comp' meant.

Will have to get it into my local indy to get checked out, I know wiring looms are relatively cheap, if it's an injector I can probably get a good second hand /refurbed one from the fleabay.

Anything over +2 is bad...

Recon injectors can be had for £150 or so. Wouldnt take the chance on a 2nd hand one...

Take two injectors out and swap them around... If the fault moves you know its an injector... If it stays its either wiring or mechanical (probably wiring loom related though!

Many thanks for the replies and suggestions guys. Bow down Bow down

I'll be getting the FF into my indy to look over it, so will give them the info as it will save time and money. Thumbs Up

Checked on fleabay and can get either the wiring loom or a warrantied injector, so will at least be able to get it sorted without too much cost...I hope!
