New door lock

We've had some fun recently with our 2003 L322. Firstly we had to have a new key ordered from LR, then it was coded to the car, all was well until the drivers door lock decided to break, it would lock using the remote but not lock manually. I wanted to take the door card off to see if anything had just dropped off but the wife wouldn't let me, so it's now had a new door lock fitted by our local mechanic, after the recent MOT was done.
Anyway, door lock is now fitted but now will not lock or unlock using the remote, and if you lock it manually the hazard lights go off randomly!
We have it booked in on the 1st June at the LR dealers to have the system recorded again, probably another hundred or so quid!
I've tried the recoding steps I found on the forums but didn't work.
Should it be ok after the door lock is recoded? Big Cry Big Cry

Now then, where the torx heads are for the lock, 3 iirc, there is a rubber grommet, bung, take out and inside you will see a allen head.
with the door open, lock the door, use a screwdriver or suchlike, slacken the allen head bolt (lefthand thread) and re tighten, this apparently resets the lock. I have no idea if it works.
I read about it somewhere on the forums, but can't remember where.
for 5 minutes, it's worth a try.
Greg.
oh, and dont forget to unlock the door with the handle, before you shut it.

Thanks, tried that but could not get door to lock with key when it was open, it kept popping back open.
That disheartened with it now I'll just leave it to the dealers to fix. I live close to Salisbury plain so the artillery might have a new target if anything else goes on it!
