Hi John,

Sorry to hear the bad news but good to hear that you're not injured. Your pride and joy may be badly damaged but think what might have happened if you'd been in a lesser car.

Thanks for that, Mark. Trust you are both well.

You are correct about the non-injury. Also the car really looked after me. Solid as a rock. I hate to think what would have happened to the other driver if it had been a full head on with 2.5 tonne of motor hitting her.

Assessor looks at her tomorrow but I expect a write off. Big Cry

PS. Just had a phone call from our insurers saying "you were not at fault" . Knew that but nice to have them says so. Think the video added to the evidence. John

An update. Confirmed as a write off. Not unhappy with the valuation by the assessor. Will await the final settlement and then, hopefully, look for a replacement.

Once I am sure will stick an ad in For Sale and Wanted. John

At least you don't have a fight for a decent valuation still lots of aggro and time but as all have said at least no major injuries

I always maintained that a good Fatty was worth much more than it's actual financial value. And yours was a well-maintained one, John, I know.
Now you've got to find another. Will you go for a left-hooker?
Good luck anyway.

20 years ownership of Solihull products, ALL GONE NOW, sniff!
Current motor: Suzuki S-Cross 4WD auto, 1.4 petrol. Oh so reliable! 5 years now and no problems. Oh, all right then, a leaking shocker replaced under guarantee.

Probably stick with RHD, Steve, as Jess is more used to that.

The advantage here is, as you know, that second hand values are higher than in UK for similar vehicles. John
