United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Bonatti Grey
Colour names ?

Right gents, some of the names JLR give colours are obvious, such as various desert sand colours but how about others? Mines Bonatti grey, so, what's a Bonatti when you can find one?

Lovely colour and it's what enticed me to buy the motor, but haven't a clue what it's named after. Laughing

Australia 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Adriatic Blue

Most (all) of the LR colours are named after places, e.g., Cobar Blue (Cobar is Oz), Adriatic Blue, Arctic White, Beluga Black (Beluga is in Alaska), Epsom Green, Westminster Grey, etc.

Bonetti is a place in California. As the colour is Bonatti - did LR make a spelling error? Laughing Or they named it after a mountaineer, the late Walter Bonatti.

Edit: I just did a hunt around the 'net, I wonder if they did name it after the location Rifugio Bonatti in the Alps? Ron B. VK2OTC

Yep, I reckon you're right there. If you look at the pics on the site the rock has the same sort of colouring, the grey has a very slight tint to it, not a stark grey. Same with the motors, Bonatti is a milder grey than others, it has a hue to it.

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Baltic Blue

Most LR colours are easy to identify but some not so.

Starter for 10....Without the aid of 'net - where is Atatcama?

and from the Classic, where is Mosswood, Sonoran or Arles?

and not to forget the P38 (although i'd like to forget my old one) where is Chawton.? Smile 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

I always thought Chawton was in the UK. It's a Pommie sounding name. Laughing

And Arles in in France.

Edit: If you'd ever watched Westerns you'd know the Sonoran Desert. Ron B. VK2OTC

Chawton is in the UK, Somerset I think

Epson is an electronics company. Epsom is where the Derby is run.

Ipaenema is a beach in Rio, hence the colour Ipaenema Sand

Atacama is desert in South America

Where is Barolo though?

Well I've used t'net and found:

Chawton is a village and civil parish in the East Hampshire district of Hampshire, England. The village lies within the South Downs National Park and is famous as the home of Jane Austen for the last eight years of her life.

As for Mosswood the only result in the UK is a static caravan park in Lancashire - not sure that's where LR got the inspiration from Whistle 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

Colour of the rock there maybe ? Bonatti grey seems to be the same shade of grey as the mountains.

here you go, Moss Wood in wales. A privately owned wood so could be known to JLR as either an employee owns it or an acquaintance.

Apparently Giverny is a small village on the outskirts of Paris where Claude-Monet did a bit of painting and decorating.
