NFU insure trailers when off the tow car, if you have a vehicle insured with them (I have my tractor and cars)
I think it is @£25-40 iirc

I struggled to find any other company that would cover it Crying or Very sad Regards

Thats a big difference already, did 1 quote last night and it was £125.

Will that cover the trailer and its cargo when attached to a tow vehicle?

I've already been on to my insurance just to check I don't have any weight limits etc and the trailer is only covered 3rd party while attached.

Be just my luck to have a blow out, trailer flips and my 911 will be on the back. Current

+1 for NFU. They insure my horse trailer but for some reason it is on my farm tractor policy. I think my other trailer is also covered by them. You need to have a vehicle insured with them but I have my FF with them anyway.

Your normal insurance covers the trailer when it is attached to the car iirc, not sure bout contents of trailer, if specialist.

Problem is when it is off the car, stored, when the thieves are about...... Regards

Some insurance companies (but not all) cover the trailer third party only when towing.

I don't know of any that offer more than that without a separate policy.

most insurance companies will cover the trailer 3rd party for towing, check in your car policy, but also check on limits if any for weight etc

You won't generally be covered for trailer contents, and definitely not if they belong to a 3rd party which you are transporting for them.

The easiest way to get the trailer covered for theft is probably as a bolt on item to your home insurance, if its just for domestic use and is stored at your address. They may specify additional security such as wheel clamps etc. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
