Advice needed for mobile networks please

As per title chaps, not really sure what to go for.

Current phones (3 in the family) are all on Vodafone and it is a great network for calls, just about the worst for mobile data though. so, 2 requirements which keep hitting me are inetrnet when we go away in the tintent and also, for one of my work contracts I use a mobile app which uses data to run. it doesn't work at all without an internet connection so I need to get a mobile wifi hotspot on a different network to have the best chance possible of a data connection everywhere.

So, Vodafone isn't in my long term plans as their mobile data is so poor. I was planning on moving to BT Mobile for the phones, and I believe BT use the EE network. This being the case, which network should I use for the mobile wifi hotspot?

I was thinking Sky mobile looks good in terms of value and they use the O2 network which I have no experience of. The alternative seems to be Three as they get some good reviews on coverage, again I have no experience of their network myself.

The main consideration is resilience. A data connection is absolutely needed for this app I have to use.

Thanks. Dom.

It all depends on where you are!!

I'm on EE and it's mostly fine if you are in or around town, and in places in the country side.

I you have regular places you go, and an unlocked phone, I would get a PAYG card in the network you are thinking of and try it out before committing to one network on pay monthly!

My EE works well in my house which is semi rural, but 1 mile down the road it doesn't work at all There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I'm with 3, sim only.
unlimited data + 4gb tethered data (tethered data is double what most contracts get for normal data)
unlimited text
2000 3 to 3 minutes
600 minutes

all for £18

Think I've been with just about every phone company there is but I've been with 3 for a fair few years now and can't fault them. Current

The tracker on my Porsche was having network problems so they replaced the SIM card with a foreign one, Danish I think, so the tracker is always roaming and choosing the best network. Probably expensive but does mean that there is always a choice of networks to get the best available.

If it were me, I'd but a mobile hub for each of the major networks with whichever carrier is cheapest.

There is no 'best', they each have their black spots, but the cost of a data sim is relatively low these days, so I'd just have several Thumbs Up

I've been very happy with 3 - they have good coverage for me at home, work and in between, plus free roaming in the US and France (plus other places I don't care about) so works for me.

Yeah, I think that's what I'll do. Have the phone on Voda for now and put an EE and Three dual SIM router in the car for Wifi.

BT own EE. I went from Vodafone to EE and get better coverage at home, but as others have said, each network has its black spots. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Almost threw my phone across site today....... just kept dropping the signal in the middle of the calls.

The problem is also that if you choose a network which has poor signal then the phone has to work harder to maintain a connection and you use battery at an amazing rate!!

mine is flat now after 3 or 4 calls today. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
