Wear on Leather Seat

Hi folks,

any idea how I go about repairing this. it's not a rip and feel as though the top layer is peeling off.. I do look after them with the Auto Glym conditioner etc and seats are good.. just want to repair this now before it gets worse.

any advice will be greatly appreciated.

You need some kit from furniture clinic iirc. You need to basically strip & re paint the area.

Yep, very common place for them to wear.

Some leather paint will go some way to sorting that.👍🏻 There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Fill your boots: https://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Applications?apid=2

I have one ready to use as my drivers seat has worn the top coat off.

Are the sides real leather or just vinyl ? Most vehicles only use real leather on the tops and vinyl in the lower areas.

L405 driver seat leather query

Looked at a number of L405 recently aged about 2.5 to 4 years old and the driver's seat leather has not looked great... Light leather looking cracked on the seat edges and on both dark and light colours, query dye stains on leather or unsightly stains that actually look like seat is wet. Maybe some of the stains due to careless owners but still plenty of unsightly soiled seats.

I reckon it's down to the leather.. my dad had am old Toyota Cressida 1979 model. it's a classic car with full.leather interior and when you look at the seats you would never know they have been out there for so many years.. Current:

That crumple point is down to the squash that happens when you swivel in and out of the car.
I've had mine connolised and he touched that part up as best he could.

I'm now trying to avoid putting my weight there getting in and out.

. Cheers, Greg
