United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Carpathian Grey

Neither - if possible I would try for a newer 4.4 AB or SE (with extras).

If you want to tow occasionaly the 4.4 is a delight.

Drove 400 miles last night with the trailer and car on the back - didn't even know it was there. Previous

Thank you for all the replies, much appreciated.
I have decided to go for the newer car and will post up some pics when I collect.
I test drove both engines and for me the 3.0 was fine I thought it was more refined than the 4.4 but that may just be down to freshness etc. Towing will only be for bikes so power is plentiful. Living in London I was wary of war on diesels etc too.
I have never done it but would you recommend gap insurance and/or the smart repair cover?

The 3.0 is more refined than the 4.4.

I wouldn't bother with GAP or smart repair. Never had it or needed it. It's really a personal thing, down to your attitude to risk.

I'm with PixelPower +1

Generally speaking views on engines are pretty partizan in as much as those with tdv6's say they are best and those with the SDV8 say like-wise. I've owned both and driven both on many occasions so can honestly say both are great. I'd definitely have another SDV8 in the right specced car but for me and the way I drive the V6 is the best compromise.

GAP insurance is down to personal preference and how optimistic you are, or aren't. I went with a company called Aequitas Automotive Limited as their offer seemed to be much better than LR for a fraction of the price. I paid just £343 for 5 years, transferrable to another car if I change and I get the full purchase price of the car if I need to claim.

I have no commercial interest or otherwise in Aequitas Automotive Limited apart from my policy.

I went with - gapinsurance.co.uk they offered 5 years at a sensible price, unlike the dealers at twice the price and for 3 years cover Rolling with laughter

i have no interest in gapinsurance.co.uk - apart from my policy

smart repair and alloy insurance - smart repair, the dealership sell has different levels of cover so be care, the size of damage and the excess, with alloy wheel if diamond cut alloys, i believe they are only available from dealerships (but please correct me if i am wrong) - this was from my research - but dealers, when selling products, eat the whole cake and ALL the cherries ontop!
