Views sought on two cars

Just wanted to get some views on 2 cars if I may. About to buy. Both from main dealers. Both black cars.
1 a 64 plate 4.4AB with elec. towbar, rear seat ents, 21 wheels, 31k miles. £63k
2 a 66 plate 3.0SE with elec. towbar, 22 wheels, less than 1k miles. £72k.

what would you choose. money not a huge issue. what represents better value and what would be more reliable as a daily driver.

Then try them both and you'll see the newer car is the one, although if you are after value there are some low miles VSE on 16 plates ( they are essentially the same car as a66 plate none MY 17) and they start around £66k.

Also try the 22s before you opt for them. They are a bit less forgiving if you like your comfort but a good choice for looks and pushing on.

I'd opt for 2.

If nothing else it's virtually a brand new car & will come with at least 2yrs warranty whereas the other will at best come with one & that would be an AUC extended warranty. Paul

I know that you asked a specific question but I think ........... neither.

4.4 Yes not that there's much wrong with the 3.0 but I found an unacceptable lag when accelerating and I'm a steady driver!
AU Yes, unless you're not bothered about some of the extra features (toys), such as massage seats and winged headrests

But I suspect that there will be lots of decent 2015 vehicles with reasonable miles at about £68K

Good luck and please let us know how you get on.

I agree with jumping , neither.

What he said!!

Handed back my 16 plate VSE this morning, and whilst my car looks better with the 22" the ride is a bit harsh compared to the 20" the loan car had.

Also straight away I recognise the throttle response on the newer car is much smoother and not as jerky, but that's only because I've driven days back to back.

I'd go for 3.0 personally. all smug in my new plug!

A well known 405 specialist here would tell you to go for post 15MY model to avoid trouble from early ones.

If you need a tow bar, then you are likely to appreciate the 4.4.....

agree with some of the above though - there seem to be better options about

There's no better tow car in the Land Rover range than the Disco 4, which is a pretty heavy old girl and it uses the very same 3.0 tdv6 as in the full fat, with four hundred kilos more weight so it tows pretty well believe me. Is the 4.4 more powerful and quicker? Yes. Does this really matter in real world towing.....very doubtful.
