My mate has just bought a 2010 vse! Should it have venture cam??

Have a gander in the upper glove box, on the right hand side there would be a docking station if it was fitted from new

Is it a 2010 MY (on a 2009 09 plate) Or is it a 10 plate onward?

Reason being, 2006 to 2009 model years (not necessarily registrations - you can get a 2006MY on a 55 plate etc) had the venture cam as an option. The 2009 / 2010 was a strange year with certain things changed, loss of Brembo brakes, stayed with the 3.6 TDV8 and VC was still an option. But when the full 2010 model came along the electronics were significantly different, changed CANBUS bit rates, new 4.4 TDV8, Brembos back in 6 pot form, etc. it seems to be at that point that VC went away from what I can tell, or at least, I've never seen one of these later cars with it fitted.

by 2010 was the surround cameras option not the replacement for venture cam? Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

My mate had VC on his 2012 Vogue SE, even though he had the Surround Cameras and Dual View
(he didn't realise that he had Surround Cameras or what the strange torch thing in the upper glove box was for ) Vogue SE 2011 MY 4.4TDV8 in Fuji White

As a newbie I'm going to bring this thread back up.. I spotted the venture cam in my 05 vogue today whilst cleaning it, what I'm not sure of is how to work it!
Can anyone help with this? I probably won't use it but it's new (to me) so I've got to have a play, younknow how it is.

Yeah, although mine doesn't have it I'm interested to know just what venture cam is and what it's for? Anyone care to enlighten me please?

Venture cam was for use when off roading. It was a remote camera, Bluetooth if I remember! It displays on the screen when in off road mode, you would stick it via the suction cup to the nearside of the car so you can see what's going on. Or you could put it in the rear window and watch your horses if towing a horse box...anyway you get the idea.
