Stan,
Are you able to check if “Stu” is still active on the forum.
I am pretty sure it was him who managed to do a forced regen with Pat’s help.

Yes I did get a Red around a year ago. Well remembered!

My town driving would be the main contributor. But yes re the turbo drain because I'm well penned in by 20 & 30mph roads I don't often get the second turbo wound up.

When I do a yellow DPF run every 4-6 weeks, I give the turbos an italian tune up too on the m-way ramps. Which keeps things clear but it's certainly catch 22 or a snowball effect:

no 50mph blast = no auto dpf regen = oil build up in the second turbo = dpf fills up faster

drives 'orrible in the limp mode Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

. Cheers, Greg

I definitely think it is a major factor Stan.
Before mine was modified it was very smoky which must clog up the exhaust eventually.

Last week when I watched the MOT tester revving it to try and get a reading on the emission test it was clean as a whistle.
He left it ticking over for quite a while then did a second test and it still recorded Zero.
He even commented that it was unusually clean, and that was at AJR, a well known Range Rover specialist independent.

Mike I looked through Stu's posts - some were about DPF regen but nothing like you described.

I think he's off & out of RR's, some of his posts were 'for sale' stuff including IIDTool.

Greg,
I will keep looking at all the notes I made whilst compiling my 4.4tdV8 Fault Log , and PM you in the morning if I find the relevant info. It is definitely on the forum somewhere.

Very kind Mike, thanks. I'm trawling too.

It's coming up to 5pm in Canada, I'm hoping GAP will reply too!

This is what Pat said in 2016 on a Defender forum:

Quote:
Hi Guys

This function is not currently implemented in the IIDTool. It has however been requested a few times so we will look into it in the coming months. Keep in mind that the conditions required to start a force or automatic regeneration are the same. It will have to be driven at highway speed for a defined period of time.

Cheers
pat

Greg,
I am sorry but I have failed to find any posts about using an iid to force a regen, which is annoying, because I know I haven’t dreamt it.

Just for comparison I have recorded my DPF live values.
I might regret saying this , but I have never had a DPF warning of any colour.

The DPF remaining volume is not what I expected?

Well thanks Mike, I really appreciate you trying to find the post.

Good to see your readings too, thank you for that too. Reassuring to see your remaining volume on 0% because that's what mine always says.

I still haven't heard form GAP but I'm close to buying an iCarsoft which says it'll trigger a Forced DPF Regen. Around £150 to buy. If I go to an Indy or LR Dealer they'll surely charge the same as that anyways.

But hoping Pat will come through with the goods.

. Cheers, Greg

Greg,
Have you seen the one in the for sale section?
http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic47833.html

Personally I would give Pat a bit longer.

Not seen that one and whilst I'm no iCarsoft expert yet, that 930 version doesn't do the forced region. I need the dearer one, the iCarsoft LR V2.0

Yes agree - I'll give Pat a chase tonight if they don't respond.

Just in from Patrick, looks like I need to buy the iCarsoft:

Hi Greg

Unfortunately, force regen is not implemented yet and won't be in the short term. Keep in mind that the same driving conditions are required.

Hi , I got the Icarsoft CR Plus today for my 2014 Mercedes Sprinter. I call the company to ask for the different choises from Icarsoft MB 2.They tell me the CR plus have the same menu like MB 2. In addition have CR Plus diagnos for ca 50 different carmakers incl. in the same unit. The price for thise was only 200 USD and free delivery. I have IId tool BT for my TDV8 but now a diagnostic test nr. 2. It will be fun to prove the differences. Sorry for my bad Englich writing.
