Transmission sump

I have a '07 with the 6 speed auto-box.

The garage have completely f****d up replacing the sump/filter and fluid and now it's leaking.

Due to that and a couple of other thigs, I won't let them near it again.

I have noticed that Britpart do a two-piece sump (in metal) and filter so it isn't necessary to drop the exhaust or undo engine mounts to change it.

Has anybody tried one of these and is there any downside?

It isn't necessary to fiddle with engine mounts and drop exhaust on FFRRs. All reasonably accessible from below. The Discos and RRSs are a different matter.

If it's leaking from the sump / gearbox joint there's s good chance they have over tightened the bolts or not tightened them in the correct sequence , unfortunately you'll probably need to drain it to correctly seat it and tighten it ,

Just from memory , someone will soon correct me the torque is about 12Nm for the bolts and the sequence is start in the centre and rotate through alternate sides ( like a cylinder head)
