Good or bad customer service??

Ok, so Swmbos 500x was in for service last week, it wasn't until I got home that I checked but they put the wrong oil down on the invoice.

So I contacted them and asked the question, what oil did you actually put in? The response was reassuringly vague in that they didn't know/the tech couldn't remember which actual oil they put in.

At this point I expected them to reassure me that the correct oil would have been used it would all be fine, no need to worry etc etc......however all credit to them they said as they couldn't be 100% sure they would order up the correct oil and replace the oil and filter on saturday.

So I think that was pretty decent owning up!! Ok so they shouldn't have got it wrong/made a note of the actual oil used, but double points for putting it right quickly. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

That's first class customer service. Everyone makes the occasional mistake, it's how they deal with it that seperates the good from the bad Drives:

NMJ,
Sounds like good service to me.
The multiple choice of oil specifications must be a nightmare for garages these days and I dare say it must be a fairly common mistake.

Had a bad experience with Mercedes a few years ago, took my E320 for its annual service, picked it up drove home about 20 min drive, went in for a brew. Then later went out to check to see if the nail polish id placed on the air filter screws had moved and other discreet checks id put in place, just to see if they’d done what the invoice said they’d done. Anyway I checked the oil, and there was nothing on the dip stick not a trace, so I waited another 30 min, checked again, nothing. Called Mercedes, and they just said bring it back, I said no effin way, you collect it, and then the seized engine would be on them. After my threats of informing every forum I could and social media, they complied. They returned the car 4 hours later, the excuse was the service was carried out by a trainee mechanic, who forgot to put oil in it, really I said. In a way of compensation for the inconvenience they said they’d give me a free valet net time it goes in, the fact they do this anyway lol. I never took it back there, but when they called the following year to book it I politely declined and gave my reasons. They were not at all interested in there mistake Dave

Waited with the car this morning.

Pretty pleased with the response. They were expecting me. Service manager apologised personally and put some fuel in the car to compensate for the inconvenience.

Have got another tub of oil and a spare filter, so it will get a flush again this weekend.

Pretty good service, well done Bristol Street Derby.😎 There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
