LPG flashlube in France

Hi all, I'm currently running a 4.2 SC on LPG in France for a trip with the tintent and I'm low on flashlube. All the garages I ask in just look at me strange and shrug Gallicly when I ask if they stock it. I've done the relevant searches and it seems to be called the same stuff but no-one stocks it. Can anyone shed any light on what to ask for, I keep showing them my empty bottle but no luck. I'm currently in the Sarlat de Canada Dordogne area and don't fancy paying petrol prices all the way back although "le GPL" is not far off the same price at the motorway services so far. Big Cry Thanks in advance guys.

I got my last bottle from Amazon; see if you can get Prime delivery next day to your hotel? Failing that perhaps eBay France might show some sellers?? "YYS" G4 FFRR

Did a bit of searching. It isn't apparently easy to find in stock. However,

Garage du Pontillou
120 Route du Pontillou
24140 Villamblard
France
05 53 81 92 60

Has two litres in stock. He is about an hour away from you (nice run in the countryside!) . If you ring him he will no doubt keep it for you. Don't know if that is of help but other than mail order there doesn't seem to be much available. I don't have LPG so may be looking in the wrong places. You are asking for "lubrifiant soupapes GPL flashlube"

If you have a problem PM a number and I will ring you or you can ring me on 0033687955426.

Hope that helps. John

France

I too did a bit of research and I found much the same as John (Weegie).

OK, I found a couple of similar products: Vlube Saver GPL Lubrifiant soupapes, Marly C Additif GPL pour Top Oiler et Flash Lube and Borlube … but there again retailers of these also seem to be very thin on the ground.

Apart from Amazon.fr who apparently have it in stock, it seems you might need to find a GPL specialist/installer. I haven’t found any less than an hour away from Sarlat but if it’s any help there’s a list of installers in the Dordogne – including John’s suggestion above – on https://www.pagesjaunes.fr/recherche/depar...lateur-gpl (first 4 names only).
If you’re moving on, you could try replacing the ‘24’ (= Dordogne) with the relevant département number for where you’re going next.
Also http://www.roulezaugpl.fr/equipement-gpl.php gives a list of GPL installers by region, albeit only covering the S of France.

Probably of not much help, sorry!

Hello Steve. I have PM'd the OP and he cannot move today as Le Tour is in the area. He is going to decide whether to go over there or not tomorow.

I made several calls here and the suggested one was the only one who said he had any. He only had 2 litres in stock. John
