Which one ?

So gents, regardless of age or performance (power) which FFRR would you say was the most reliable? Which one gives the least trouble ?

Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

My 62 WM needed a new gearbox 8 days after I got it, had two software faults that drained the battery, 6 build faults where things were not fitting properly and 10 corrosion warranty claims during its three year warranty period. But I may have been unlucky. Both rear shocks are weeping, as is one of the turbos, but it seems to be running well enough as it approaches its fifth birthday, touch wood. I fear that corrosion will be a continuing problem, especially the rear wheel arches, even though mine have both been resprayed and waxoyled. There are simply too many stones thrown at the edges.

It's very hard to say which is the most reliable. It's not the BMW engined 4.4 anyway, again based on my experience. A friend has a 405 4.4 SDV8 and has had no faults whatsoever in over three years, that's the best I have heard of.

If Classics count I'd say my 3.9 manual Efi is the most reliable RR I have owned, though prone to corrosion, almost 10 years and only one failure I can remember, coils shorting out due to condensation, beyond that only consumables. Only Range Rovers since 1988
