I was in my local MD yesterday and they have confirmed that the facelift will have almost the same appearance as the Velar - has anyone else heard when the 2018 facelift will be available ? 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Visual changes are supposedly minor. Last month, dealer thought January (but they seem to know very little).

Dealers will only be told at the very last minute and the sales people last of all.

The job of sales is to sell what's available now, not provide information that's only likely to delay a sale.

We will probably know before they do!

(Worked continuously in sales, or sales management, for around 25 years).

In line with modern day LR design philosophy I suspect the face lift will mean it looks more like the Velar. The whole line up is becoming far too generic for me now. It seems like the design studio has one set of plans they simply put in a photocopier with different zoom settings!!!! Big Cry 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

At least, to LR's credit, they give the different ranks in the hieracy names (like Ejoke, Velar, Sport & whatever-it-is-they-call-the-real-one) and expect a degree of intelligence from their customers to work out which is which and which order to put them in.

If it's a BMW, they have to label it with numbers in the hope that the average BMW driver has at least learned to count from 1 to 8 or, in the case of Audi, 7 and them simply prefix with an X, or a Q, if it's the Touring/Avant version, but with off road styling Whistle

I've never even bothered to check what it is Mercedes do, is it similar?

The model range bounds are getting blurry. They should have just replaced the Evoque with the Velar. Hope they don't continue down the Mercedes route. I always fancied the idea of an S Class Coupe, but now its easily confused with any number of cheaper offerings in the range.

Not quite sure how the above works to be honest - as I was going to buy a vehicle, and the salesmans advice made me change my choice - I have been a customer of this MD since 1989 and have no reason to doubt their integrity. If anything he was being more than honest and sacrificed a sale to ensure I would in the longer term be a satisfied customer... 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Plus 1 - I think they should just ditch the poverty spec lower models and stick with the Proper RR Wink 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

I agree.

Personally I think having a raft of cheaper vehicles wearing the Range Rover badge does detract from the cache of a proper fattie.

It's not that many years ago when if you said you had a Range Rover people knew exactly what it was.

Now it annoys me that I have to explain I have a "proper" Range Rover. Mad 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

I saw that on the other forum but I suspect the MY18 facelift will involve a bit more than revised headlights (the drawing shows no change whatsoever in bodywork).
