Replacing Diesel Filter

Hi folks,

I decided to replace the whole diesel filter assembly rather than just the filter as I got it at a good price (see pic below). I have searched through but could not find the instructions on how to disconnect the pipes and prime once replaced.

Please can someone give me pointers on the steps I need to take? I really need RAVE or likes of it so i can refer to it Current:
- L560 Velar HSE R-Dynamic D180
- Peugeot 508 2011 - 2.2 HDi GT

Past:
- FFRR V 2010 - 3.6 TDV8
- Citroen C4 1.6i Petrol
- Mitsubishi Shogun 3.2 DID
- Peugeot 607 2.2 HDi
- Nissan Primera 1.8 SVE
- Honda Civic 1.6 VTEC

Why did you get the housing as well? I cant upload the relevant pages for some reason but for the filter alone ....

The WSM says:

1. disconnect battery ( I didn't and I'm still alive) but never gave that a thought.
2. Loosen the water in fuel sensor one complete turn clockwise (according to the picture). Its the knurled ring at the base of the filter. Nothing came out when I did mine)
3. undo the large locking ring on the top of the filter and remove the whole.

Reverse to fit but it can be a bit of a game getting the locking ring back tight again as knuckle room is at a premium. I did not have to prime - just let the pump do that before firing.

I cant find any reference in the WSM for disconnection of the whole housing. Unless there is a problem I wouldn't bother. Thumbs Up 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

In my opinion it's easier to disconnect the entire housing. Absolute ******* to remove the filter in place and you simply need to pop the blue clips on each line and pull it off. Two bolts hold it onto the body.

Pretty sure it'll self prime itself, just leave the ignition on for a bit before starting. Ed

Ditto.. which was my rationale too coupled with the price for a genuine one on fleBay.

Want to be 100% about the clips on fuel lines before I attempt it and also any tips to avoid air lock Current:

We've just done ours again, I didn't drain it this time as it makes a right mess just carefully undid it and lifted it out full of diesel and nothing gets spilt. popped the new one in and let the system re prime itself. Our locking ring came undone easily enough.

One thing to note ours has a water in fuel sensor, that doesn't cone on the new filters so has to be swopped over.
