Steering Wheel Vibration

As the title says - when going down hill and braking I get vibration through the steering wheel as is the disc's are warped. I first had this 2000 miles in after fitting cheap discs and pads. Bearing this in mind I fitted new Pagid discs and pads , cleaned and greased the sliding pins and before fitting the discs , cleaned the surface to ensure no high spots. I have also fitted another set of wheels and tyres but I am still getting this issue. Normal 'everyday' braking is fine so Im at a loss as to the problem ! Any advice gratefully recieved. Question

Downhill implies something on the front axle. I'd give the bushes a good inspection. You can get similar behaviour on a Defender when the panhard rod bushes are going, which the FF doesn't have but other bushes can contribute.

Quick check of tyre pressure won't go amiss. Ed

Removed , checked and DTI'd the discs - all ok. Ensured re-seated flat etc and greased caliper pins. All checked out ok. Wheels torqued correctly and tyre pressures correct. Checked bushes as far as I can , but , what bushes are likely to introduce the wheel shaking as described ? Even removed and redid the rear brakes ! All were changed for Pagid discs and pads all round at the time so at a bit of a loss for now Trawled the internet but no luck so far ! Sad

What size wheels are you running?
If over 18", the td6 is prone to vibration from larger type wheels.
18's are standard on the td6.
I get vibration off mine when moving from access height to standard, their doesn't seem too be an answer too it.
greg.

Just fitted TDV8 19's - still does the same with stock 18's so unfortunately it seems to rule the tyres and rims out of the equation Sad
