on the drive home with my 322 I noticed how tinny the stereo sounded , initial thoughts were the settings as the battery had been off but even with it all set to my liking it still lacks anywhere near normal levels of bass , ive found the subwoofer this morning so I presume its not working , so will it be the amp or something else ?

Have you checked the obvious ?

Bass/Treble settings where they should be etc ?
What is the source of the music ? MP3 files often lack bass if not at a high bitrate - have you tried multiple sources ?

After that, it could be the amp or it could be a connection somewhere....

ive set the EQ up how I would have it in any other of my cars but its still garbage and nothing like I would expect from such a vehicle pal , im compiling a list of things to look at but numero uno is the suspension , once I get that working correctly then all these little niggles can be attended too

If it's a 2010 to 2012 then it's a common view. I took mine to the dealer as I thought the sub woofer had failed. "They all sound like that" was the response. In fact the woofer is just vibrating but I find only noticeable at head banging volume.

I've stopped turning up the bass as it just deadens the sound. I've got used to the more "refined" sound of the system. It does sound pretty tinny when on the motorway unless you crank up the volume. 2012 5.0L S/C

its a 52 reg pal but what your saying is the sound system is !

I've seen the same problem on a 52 plate that was caused by the black DSP amplifier. Changing the amp solved the problem. Current:

Ok pal , ive noted the passenger front speaker isnt working either so does the same amp power that too , infact the whole system ??

Ive been behind to passenger boot panel this aft and there appears to be something missing ?? It sits above the amp and the nav player is above it , any ideas what should be in that space ??

When I lost bass it turned out all four bass speakers in the doors had failed.
Replaced with secondhand units, now all good.
