Thanks, and good luck sorting the restricted performance problem.
Post a picture of the 4 short hoses and I will tell you if they are the original design which split or the modified later type which solve the problem.

PS
I have been offered a very impressive database for fault logging if anyone wants to take it on.
It would be easily adapted for L405 faults if anyone wants to manage a similar L405 Fault History Log.

I’ve had my RR for almost 4 months and within the last month had to replace the oil cooler gaskets, adaptive dynamics wire break & auxiliary belt tensioner collapse all at 74K miles. I do hope I have a quiet period now! Chris

Hi Mike,

I've had error P040D-00 (2F) Exhaust Gas Recirculation Temperature Sensor A - circuit high.

A quick search here and this came up from mikeyyn:

Quote:
Hi, I had a fault with EGR sensor, fault code P0486-17 (27) Exhaust gas recirculation sensor B circuit - General electrical failure - circuit voltage above threshold

Turned out to be a faulty throttle body. A lot quicker to replace than the EGR and sensor.
.

Grateful for any tips or further info on this.

Greg Cheers, Greg

Greg,
I have had exactly the same Fault code since early December but have not yet got to the bottom of it,
However I cannot notice any ill effect from it and don’t think it is causing any problems.

I have just had the EGR sensor replaced and seemed to clear the code and issue?

I've read a bunch of posts on this over the last hour and it seems some people have the fault, leave it and it's fine.

Others not so lucky.

Would be good to know if there are other indicators that might give away whether the engine is being over-fuelled.

It could also be gunked up and there was a suggestion of an intake cleaner.

Has anyone done this? If so how was it, what did you use etc?

. Cheers, Greg

Baltic, only just spotted this thread, I'll update with info soonest, but won't be till after the bank holiday, and only then when I get my IID tool and can find out if I have any as yet unknown gremlins.

Be good to have a stand alone topic in Technical that lists the common issues, how to check if they’ve been done and then a link to a thread/wiki on how they can be fixed... Thumbs Up 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

I have had to repair the top near side strut wiring for adaptive dynamics a few months back, and also the PCV for the aircon pump.

Mike, did you ever make the leads up with the silicon wire ? Too many toys, not enough time

John,
Ashamed to say, but I never finished them.
I have got them in my workshop almost ready to fit, but I hit a snag.
The wires at the plug end are very fine and the only way I could see to reuse the existing plug was to cut it very near the plug and join to the new wire, so I decided to do the repair next time one fails.

This is a picture of the official repair loom with a new plug already fitted.

So far issues:

Intake manifold hose failure (old hose design) replaced all four.

Oil seals on the back of the oil cooler cheap and easy fix

Currently being investigated for possible turbo issue on offside bank and its losing coolant Crying or Very sad

I've read about a similar coolant issue, it was the water cooled EGR leaking water into the intercooler, caused turbo failure
