Can't access erm access height... {SOLVED}

The cars been parked up for a time while waiting for me to order some bits up and to drain down the gearbox, anyway with it standing so long the battery started to flag so I swapped it out for my spare. Did the steering reset and set it to off-road height, it was struggling to get up to height so I popped it back to normal waited a few minutes and thought I'll drop it to access (I do this if the cars been standing a while so the air springs don't start to crack from lack of use). Anyway the suspension light for access wouldn't light up and the car didn't drop, so it struggled to raise to max and it won't drop to access - the IIDtool doesn't show any eas faults - any ideas guys...... ______________________________

I did have everything closed but a bit confused that the led for access height wouldn't light up.

I'll go up today and give it another go, it might just be a dodgy led.... ______________________________

I had a fault with mine with no lights on the suspension module and unable to select any height.

I removed the exhaust from the compressor and it worked. I ended up getting a hole drilled in the exhaust so that the air would escape and I could then use the suspension properly all the time.

Worth checking and also easy to check as well!

cheers and good luck Alex

Good advice lads.

I'll do reset then give it a drive out, mind you just noticed the n/s front tyre is flat so that might be knocking the system out of kilter.. ______________________________

I'm a beginner on this squatting and lifting stuff, but I've now had the TD6 a fortnight and still haven't worked out what works and what doesn't.

The door switch seems to do nothing wrt the height. I assume this is a faulty switch or wire.

It seems to go a bit towards the off-road height when I switch the main switch that way, but it's hard to tell. Switching it down to the access position sometimes seems to do something, sometimes not a lot. It always seems to come back to normal ride height when set back to normal.

Whenever it moves, it feels as if the front goes up or down first. Is this normal?

Just been up and all is ok, went down to access then straight up to off road height so god knows what was wrong yesterday.

But those of us with a 322 know that tomorrow is another day........ Thumbs Up

@ Billaboard - a previous owner of your Range Rover may have tinkered with the suspension heights, best to get it hooked up to an IIDtool and look what heights or faults are stored in the cars memory. Then take it from there..

Best of luck and thanks to everyone who suggested ways of helping me out... ______________________________

there is most definitely not doing what it should , off road is a lot higher than normal and low doen is a lot lower than standard ride height , could be your compressor getting tired ?

Thanks, both, for the replies. I'll add that to the list of things for the local indy to look at and start saving up.

Yeah I refurbed my P38a compressor a few times so I think I'll be doing this one as a precaution.

Cheers mate 👍🏻 ______________________________
