L322 to L405

Hi, I'm new to the forum and have found it extremely informative.

I am a RR fan big time and I'm in my 4th RR all been Autobigraphy. I have had the L322 3.6 and currently have an L322 4.4. It's 12 year 61 plate autobiography it's has the extended bumpers.

I have had the RR 4 years and have just changed to a L405 V6 Autobigraphy. I collect the car tomorrow.

I haven't slept for 2 nights thinking, have I done the right thing. The L405 is beautiful and fantastic to drive. It's smooth, quite and full of refinements.

My issue is, it's not a V8, am I doing the right thing.

Thanks

Tom

Mrs pld would tell you to keep the L322. Cannot reconcile the difference in cost between the current L322 and the L405.

Nothing wrong with the TD6. Perfectly suits the car. It's very smooth and quiet.

Thanks for the quick responses. It's appreciated.

I gues I have OCD when it comes to cars. I love my current L322. It is the only car I've had which will bring a tear to my eye when it goes.

So why am I changing? I guess I just want to keep up with the times. Mine is on 50000 miles which I know is nothing to these beasts, however I have got the opportunity to jump into the 405 with only 18000 miles on a 63 plate.

It's got nearly the exact spec, black paintwork, black leather, black headlining, black wood, wooden steering wheel, electric towbar, 22" alloys.....just what I have spent 4 months looking for........ but it's not a v8 Big Cry

But it will get me into the 405 within my budget. So far I haven't give backword....

Really appreciate the replies Very Happy

I've experienced both V6 and V8 and you will not be disappointed with the V6. Slightly nimbler than the V8, good low down torque and just as quick in real world conditions. Biggest difference is the better steering with the lighter front end and the economy is a fair bit better too.

They are great cars, good luck with your new one and make sure to post some pics.

Cheers, I've had it from 3000 miles 5 months old. It has never cost me a penny and has only had 2 small warranty jobs which were 2 x replacement exhaust cowlings in the back bumper. Thumbs Up

I think we have all had that, i did 100k in my 5.0 Supercharged 2011 with Exterior Body Kit and had 3 sets of exhaust cowlings. They are a good motor.

Enjoy your new one. You will love it.
