Lucky lucky lucky!!

I was lucky today!!

I bought the L322 approx. 3 months ago, and had the gearbox fail. OK... this is a known problem, and I had it refurbished for €2100 and 1 year warranty, so I am not too worried.

The turbo had to be replace because of a leak, and then the replacement part was suspect, so garage have not installed a "new" turbo. That problem should now also be solved.

Ever since I got the car back, I have had a strange squeal when accelerating. I couldn't identify what it was, so on Saturday I took it back to the garage, and they diagnosed it as the aux belts.

I made an appointment to replace the pulleys and belts next Saturday.

Well... today on motorway, and heard a flapping noise under car, and thought "*"*!", I have some grass/plants caught underneath from Saturday driving in the horse field.

Sadly, I should have checked... it wasn't plants caught underneath!!

The belt has snapped!!

I was extremely lucky though because it seems that it is only the AC belt that has snapped, and not the main one, and it doesn't SEEM (still to be checked) to have done any damage.

I managed to drive it as far as the garage, and have left it for them to replace the belts (and pulleys if necessary).

I think I was lucky!!!!!

I think that the big things have already been done.

The geabox is big.
Turbo is big.

Water pump, injectors were already done before i bought the car.

The aux belts are relatively small, and looking at rave, i could have done them myself. They done seem any harder than on a D2, but I haven't any experience with L322 repairs (yet) so i thought i would get there done by a garage for the first time.

Parts don't seem to be quite as easy to find for the L322 as for the D2.

Parts are really easy to find once you know where to look, I have replaced pretty much every part on mine.
The Russian microcat site or other microcat site is the place to start and once you have the part numbers you are away, I like the Britcar site as it lists alternatives on the same page, island 4x4 is good, rimmer brothers is another.
I think it is www.lrparts.ru
Takes a bit of getting used to using the site and finding the part numbers but worth persevering and don't use the back arrow at the top of the page as it takes you all the way out again.
