gearbox loom

Hi Dan,

My garage is telling me that the gearbox is leaking from the wiring plug on the box and that the loom needs replacement.

VIN: SALLMAM237A243985

What's the cost and availability pls?

Pat

Hi Pat

going to need a bit more info, I don't understand how you have a leaking gearbox from a wiring plug on the loom?

also the gearbox loom is going to be part of the main body harness... You can paypal direct using - www.paypal.me/duckworthparts

Apparently, there is a wiring plug on the side of the gearbox.

I'll go back to them for more info. They say it is a common problem on the X5 with the same box.

Right, I've been back to the garage.

The bit they need is the plastic 'sleeve' for the gearbox (mechantronix) connector.

I believe that the sleeve has a ZF part number of 27.520, but that there is a kit which also contains the gaskets.

This, although BMW shows a picture of it

typically LR don't sell it separate to the bit of harness, would be £122 for that. BMW should be the same though? You can paypal direct using - www.paypal.me/duckworthparts

Thanks anyway Dan.

I'll order the BMW part - it's only £17!
