A bargain oil change while you wait

Went to my local B&Q today and across the road was this place

I popped in out of curiosity and asked the question - £74 for oil and filter change with no appointment necessary and Castrol Edge used as well. Seems a good deal.

I've seen similar setups in the USA, run by Texaco. I remember thinking at the time what a good idea it was.

The bays were spotlessly clean. They said for £90, I could have oil, filter and air filter replaced. Stamp in the book as well! 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

Not a bad service, it's easy to spend £50 on oil and a tenner for the filter. Then you have to dispose of the old oil etc.

If these guys were local I would use them.

Noddy - Don't forget that filter at the back ot the engine that requires the plastic off the top to access it (TD6) . That can be easily overlooked and cause all manner of issues if not changed, not least a early demise to the engine. Thumbs Up 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

Castrol Edge at Euro Car parts is around £35 for 4 litres and a tenner for a 1 litre pack. According to RRUK's post at the top of this section, the TD6 takes 9 litres of the stuff. There's at least 80 odd quid straight away. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded
