[Keeping it!] Stornaway with Parchment L322 TDV8 Vogue

Keeping it for now!
Sorry folks, just been to look at a couple more low mileage 4.4 TDV8s and realised this is really pretty tight and may as well hold on to it.

The chap who offered me his 4.4 TDV8 is now keeping it.

I have been to see a couple of 4.4 TDV8s and as nice as they were, I am now wondering why I am spending the best part of £15k to be in a slightly newer car. Still 5-6 years old with no warranty etc.

I think it may be better to run this for another year and see where L405s are at price wise then.

Thanks for all those who showed interest. Porsche 911 (996)

Yeah, you're right.

I changed the drop links on this this morning, I thought there was a bit of play, but the 'experts' said everything was good.

I just knew that over rough roads and tracks it didn't seem as 'new' as it should. Swapped the drop links and it has transformed it!

On the way back I went and looked at a 61 plate 4.4 with 76k miles on it that was up at a fair price and to be honest, it didn't feel as tight as mine.

Pretty much as I said in my message to you.

The guy buying my Merc has gone quiet on me, so presume he can't get the finance. I really wanted the Merc to go first, this will determine budget on the next car. If it doesn't sell for what I need it to go for I will probably just keep them both.
The guy buying the Merc has thrown things for me, he didn't say he was getting finance, first thing I knew about it was when he called to say he couldn't get it.

I then had to leave to g to France, not back till next Monday.

Regarding the RR, I have someone local who wanted to come and see it before I left on Friday, but he was called into work on the Wednesday and then I was on Thursday. He is still really wanting to see it and has emailed me a couple of times saying can we meet up Tuesday.

I then have someone else who is local who also wants it, and seen it, but he really needed it by Monday latest and we don't get back till Monday and I had the balls up with the Merc inbetween him viewing and saying he will take it.
I didn't realise when I replied to your PM asking if it was still for sale that he had emailed me again saying he will wait till I get back.

Also, I had a bit of a clunk on the front suspension going over really rough ground, the garage said drop links, they replaced them and it was perfect as I drove away. But after driving down to Poole and then into France it seems it is back, if anything worse. So now presuming one of the drop links I bought is either not quite tight enough or failed straight away. They were Lemforder as well, so thinking maybe one is just not quite tight enough.

So going to try and get over on Monday if I get back in time for them to look at them.

I just thought it easier to say "Keeping it" until I know what is happening with the Merc etc. and until I had the 'clunk' looked at.
I only want to sell this if I can get into a newer one, which I need to sell the Merc to do. I also can't live with only one car, if I sell the Merc first I can buy a cheaper second car, and I then know how much I have to put towards the new RR. Also, because I am not using the Merc I don't care if that does go and get replaced with something cheaper, however, I don't want the RR to go and then not be able to sell the Merc.

So that is where I am at. Porsche 911 (996)
