I would argue the case for the 3.6.
I really wanted a late 4.4 L322, but I picked up a 3.6 to 'test the water' so I didn't have to sell my Mercedes E350 estate.
I fell for the Range Rover big time and decided to sell both and buy a 4.4 TDV8, but in all honesty, all the 4.4 didn't feel different enough for the price difference.
I was looking at £8k for mine and the best part of £22-24k for a 4.4 with low enough miles to make the swap worth doing, and at that point it isn't worth doing, if that makes sense?
Now, in a year or two when a 3.6 is £6k and a 4.4 is £10k which they will be, that will change things somewhat.
But right now, imho, it is the 3.6 TDV8 that is the real bargain. Hence why I decided to keep mine. Porsche 911 (996)
