I was surprised he said it after your comment yesterday, Stan.

Hence posting it.

If it has got the original 4 rubber hoses on the plenum, I would bet my shirt on one of them being split.

They cost approx £100 for 4 with new jubilee clips., but if it is still under warranty make sure they change them anyway.

Thanks, Mike.

I'm sure the word plenum was mentioned.

Will be robust in getting them to replace them.

So glad I got an extended warranty!

Also, make sure you thermostat is getting up to temperature quickly and staying there rock solid, the car will not regen until it hits full temperature on many marques, I presume LR products are the same.

I don't know much about RR, but I was told some models had thermostats that go a fair bit higher than the regular 90-92ºc to make sure cars with higher soot levels could burn off more during a regen.
However, after 3 or 4 years a stat can start to go and it may only be getting to 95ºc which would not be enough to activate a regen. Porsche 911 (996)

I would try and do some digging to find out how the DPF Regen works, what parameters it needs to start etc.
But definitely look at your temperature and see if it is where it is meant to be. Porsche 911 (996)

I read that, it is interesting, and it does say that a regen will only occur when the the get get up to operating temperature, I would just like to know how that is worked out, oil temp, coolant temp etc.?

This is why thermostats should be a servicable part that is swapped at 4 years or 60k miles, they do start to fail, and so many of the cars systems work from their readings. Porsche 911 (996)

as far as i can figure out , the regen procedure is dependent on the exhaust manifold sensor getting to the correct temperature....i dont think the thermostat is any thing to do with it.. ... - .- -.

Well Audi/Vag, BMW, Mercedes. Volvo etc. all use the main Thermostat to work out when it is up to temperature.

I have seen a few who have been told they need a new DPF who have then put a new 'stat on and theirs has been fine for another 50k miles.

I may be wrong, just something to look into. Porsche 911 (996)
