Radio problem / flat battery

So I have been working in France on the way to the ferry the radio switched it’s self off dsp was still showing on dash but radio would not come back on. I thought ok can do with out radio for a few hours fix it when I get home.
Arrived at ferry after two hour drive all seemed okay but when I came to get off the ferry 4 hours later battery was completely dead of course I was first in line on my deck so caused utter chaos.
Eventually they found a power pack and we jump started it not wanting to risk turning it off I drove 80 miles home and took earth lead off when I arrived.
Put earth lead back on at 9am and radio sprang into life and just checked and after nearly ten hours battery is fine and starts on key perfectly.
Any ideas ? Dead bm54?

Not if the radio came on and started to work. Maybe the battery was a bit flat and the alternator wasn’t putting out enough power to take the battery back up to where it should be.

Or what’s more likely is it’s got its knickers in a twist and needed a reset....... ______________________________

Found the problem seems to be a bad connection at the bm54 plug sometimes radio will come back on if I press down on the plug other times it locks its self out and I have to remove the earth lead on the battery to reboot it.
Plug and pins all look ok no water ingress and no apparent corrosion. Doing my head in now as if I leave it off it flattens the battery if I reset it it’s fine.
