United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Carpathian Grey
Thinking of swapping my wheels

I've recently purchased a 2013 SDV8 Autobiography which has the 22inch turbine wheels and I'm considering sapping them for some 21inch wheels.

The reason for this is the road noise on certain surfaces and the noise heard when hitting pot holes. The car is a lot quieter than my previous L322 when travelling on nice smooth tarmac but appears to be noisier on other surfaces.

I'm considering putting these wheels on which I had on my previous L322. They are the 21 inch wheels from one of the SVA, style 706, which I had changed to a dark shadow chrome.

Any views on what the Turbines (x5) are worth?

Have you got the OE spec Conti Tyres on the Turbines? Reason I ask is my new RR has 22" Turbines on and it is fine on the road - definitely no excessive noise at all. It does tramline ever so slightly but the benefits far outweigh this - it goes around corners and handles as if it is on rails without any drama at all.

Maybe yours has had different / cheaper tyres fitted. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Are they the right Conti's though - you can also get silent ones with foam in 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

How do I identify if they are the silent version please.

I've looked at the tyre wall labels and I can't see any reference to silent 2019 L405 SDV8 Autobiography

Having only recently moved to the L405, from a D4, the RR is incredibly quiet, with the only significant noise being tyre roar. But I already run 21” wheels.

I’m of the impression that there’s nothing noisy about the tyre’s, it’s just the fact that there’s so little noise coming from anywhere else.

Try some 21’s, by all means, but you may find there’s very little difference...
