Headlight bulb changing L405

Guys, I have just noticed one of my headlight units is not working. Its the round one that is meant to look like a camera lens. I just called the dealership. £90 to diagnose, £100 plus fitting of about £60 plus vodka and tonic. They must not want to sell me a new car clearly. I cannot spend that money when I am sure its straightforward to do, but how? Can anyone tell me what the procedure is please? I think it was the £90 to diagnose that upset me for Goodness sake, its a light bulb. 2006 S/C owned from new. Black, sand with black inserts. Shes a thirsty girl. ( now gone)

It may not be the bulb, it could be the igniter. So a diagnosis is required but £90 does seem steep.

Ah right, so the technician needs to plug his machine in then? I am beginning to fall out of love with Range Rovers! its just a light bulb , why does it have to involve a bloody computer diagnostic. Yes I see why, but do we really need this level of complexity? 2006 S/C owned from new. Black, sand with black inserts. Shes a thirsty girl. ( now gone)

If you can get to it, i would swap it over to the other side to confirm...but I'm not familiar with the 405.

Assuming you have the Diesel ? then its a case of undo the jubilee clamps from each of the air filter boxes behind each headlight then lift up and out and swap the bulbs left to right to diagnose , you still need small fingers and good glasses and a dry environment to do it though .
