Jaguar F Pace

Thought I might share my thoughts on the F Pace, which I’ve had for a month now.

I have the 300PS V6 Diesel in Portfolio spec and went a bit bonkers on the options to make sure I got the FF luxuries I had become used to. Its a different sort of car, you can chuck it about and it goes like a stabbed rat, very responsive acceleration and brakes are good too. Use it in dynamic and its brilliant on twisty roads. Its comfortable and you sit lower in the car, so no imperious driving position, but still a good view out all round. I’m still getting used to not having an arm rest in the door at just the right height though! The in car entertainment (also now fitted to RRs) is baffling but in theory really good. One thing which is brilliant is being able to download journeys, makes business miles claims a doddle.

I also signed up to an F Pace owners forum, which appears to be dominated by owners of 2 litre diesel or petrol models in lower spec. All I’ll say is that they lack the wit and repartee you find on here; perhaps the difference between real enthusiasts and car nerds? I find it all ironically amusing......

So far then I’m pretty happy. Its not a FFRR, but its a nice car and SWMBO likes it. We both miss the FFRR, but I don’t miss that gut wrenching feeling when you touch the starter button wondering if it will start! Will we get another FFRR.....of course! But I am going to enjoy the F Pace for a while. I’ll stay on here mind, for the banter and also to keep clued up for the next change.

Andy

67 views and no reaction...? Must be because you haven't mentioned any problems, so nobody can say " told you so" Thumbs Up Enjoy your ride, Jaguar is my old love, I probably will go back to, as soon as my 322 is sold. The new lines of the RR family are just not mine.

Today my wife wondered if a passing F Pace was the new Maserati SUV so I had to correct her. Thankfully, despite her fleeting interest in “playing away“, she maintains support for me switching our RRS for a FF. But if I had to choose F Pace vs Maserati then I think it would be a tough call, especially now they’re releasing the 424BHP petrol engine for UK market.

Ilard, the new Maza SUV doesn’t get a very good rep from auto car. I was hoping for something different to the crowd, beautiful to look at and full of fizz but it just ain’t so apparently.
