L322 3.0Td6 03 EGR Blanked fuel consumption

Anyone noted a drop in mpg after blanking the egr. I am now seeing 22 mpg which seems low?

Yeah much livelier but this one has always been thirstier than my last. The latest seems to do 5 mpg less thought the egr might of been the problem.

well it was supposed to have been but what the company did didnt affect anything on mine , the mpg was the same as was the performance...i'm 100%sure they just 'pretended' to do some mapping. ... - .- -.

id say so as mine is waaaay better than pre-map pal , i have he EGR mapped out but usually blank the EGR aswell , not got round to it as yet

Can you map out the egr on the TD6? I think you just blank it, which is all I did.

I got a small but noticeable decrease in fuel consumption, but it didn't seem to last.

when i blanked my egr i think i left the egr open, could it be when you and bleeperman did yours that the egr was closed hence the decrease in mpg ... - .- -.

EGR

The EGR valve was seized in gum and looks like it was only half open. The blank is by design totally closed so the car breaths full fresh air now. Noticed she is nippier but 3 -5 mpg loss is too much for my liking, now considering a diagnostic and possible remap.

yes the EGR can be mapped out with a remap , I had mine done a few weeks ago

Guys either the shock has got to my right foot or the MPG is improving with use must be getting use to the fresh air! suppose 25 -26 MPG is about right countryside driving.

I noticed no difference in performance when I blanked off my EGR.

But hopefully less crap will be directed through the engine and gumming up the variable vanes in the turbo.

I got a decrease in fuel consumption, hence an increase in mpg. Smile

my blanking kit should arrive tomorrow all being well , weather needs to improve before the bonnet will get opened mind
