This is the first 1 without Edd China. I'll give it a go and see but I do suspect it'll go the same way as Top Gear once Clarkson, et al, moved on.

By the way, the new Grand Tour series is back with us on 8th December. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged

Thin Lizzy are still going even though Phil Lynott is long dead. Isn't WD without Ed a bit the same?

Nope. And they are called black star riders now as they felt it was disrespectful to continue using the name without him.

I'll give it a go but doubt it will be the same without Ed.

Same here. They were Thin Lizzy in 2012 when I saw them but changed their name shortly afterwards.

I suspect it’ll be the same Americanised version but with a different mechanic, so no I won’t be watching it....... ______________________________

Must be because it was an anniversary show.

I suppose if they used the black star riders name then not many people would know who they are

Just had a quick Google

Black Star Riders is a hard rock band formed in December 2012, when members of the most recent line-up of Thin Lizzy decided to record new material, but chose not to release it under the Thin Lizzy name. While Thin Lizzy will continue on an occasional basis, Black Star Riders is a full-time band,[1] described as "the next step in the evolution of the Thin Lizzy story".[

At least the old shows were about ‘euro’ cars and there was a good chance that we either owned or could own one.

Not some spurious, ugly, gas guzzling 70s American veehickle that I’ve never even heard of..... ______________________________

Ant used to do a restoration programme, For the Love of Cars, with Phil Glenister, an actor who played a copper on British TV. Ant used to be a UK copper.

Ed posted a video about leaving WD and how the US producers were reducing the amount of restoration shown. Too expensive to film. I suspect it might end up being as bad as most US automotive shows that focus on the personalities not the work being done. Ron B. VK2OTC

I suspect an analogy to a car show is more relevant than an analogy with a rock band but who knows. We'll all know on January 2nd and no doubt most will not agree. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged
