What happend to 2002 MY?

Plus - I didnt think the $800 price tag was that great, considering the bluetooth module is about £150 and just plugs in...

I've done it - very worthwhile IMO. I'd do it even bearing in mind that a Parrot/other BT unit can be had for around GBP100. Unfortunately I'm a little far away to help you Paul. If you want to come to France... Laughing

The BT unit costs around €370 here. With the mic, BT antenna, and minimum pairing button your over €450. And it's not quite plug n play. There is a bit of repinning necessary at the BT module plug. Not really terrible, but I believe the roverupgrades kit contains an adapter harness making it easier. Still, at $800.... Neutral

I'm negotiating to see if I can get better prices on some other BMW items - I'll see if I can gain access to the BT module.

Thanks for offer. i'd love to have this upgrade but just don't have the technical knowledge to do it myself.

England 2011 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Santorini Black

Just bought a Gen13 ULF bluetooth module from Germany (complete with rocking horse poo and hens teeth) - Gen 13 (the latest) go for £300+ even so the Bimmernav/RangeRoverupgrades upgrade is expensive but is also the closest to plug and play you will get. I got the modified loom from Adam at l322.com "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

Hello SteveMFR,

I am new here as I have just yesterday bought my 2003 TD6 to keep my Disco 2 TD5 company.

My vehicle has thr full Navigation system, phone etc. I know that it has been upgraded (don't know all details), but it doesn't have bluetooth handsfree (only handsfree for the built in phone).

What can i do to get bluetooth in the car?

I live in Luxembourg, so i can travel if needed.

Thanks for your help/advice.

Nick

Hello nebc100

I added bluetooth to my 2002 td6 by replacing the CD player with a Grom Bluetooth unit.

See here - http://gromaudio.co.uk/products/bluetooth-...t-666.html

I re-pinned mine and fitted a ULF. Easy enough with the diagram

Can you possibly give me more details or a link as i don't fully understand all these electrics yet.

I come from a D2 background, and this L322 seems extremely complicated!!

There's a plug dangling in the boot. That's what you'll need to re-pin. It's literally remove a pin one at a time and re-position it.
Example - pin 1 to pin 5 and so on. Don't plug it straight into a ULF unpinned as you'll blow it up.

I might have the diagram on my laptop. I'll see if I've still got it

Ok... That doesn't sound too bad.

The ULF... What is it & where can i find one?

Does it then simply replace the incar telephine that i already have?

Does it use the internal microphone, or do i have to put another one?

You can buy a BMW ULF off eBay. There are several versions - the later the better but then they get more expensive. You can buy a mic and antenna from a BMW quite cheap. The mic already has wiring for it behind the panel in the headlining and clips into place.
Then all you do is put it into pair mode by grounding one of the wires to the ULF. This will cause the LEDs to flash on the SatNav unit. This is when you will find it in your Bluetooth list on your phone.

DM me and I'll give you some better assistance

Ok... I have been looking... the ulf seems easy enough to find. Considering I have the original built-in phone, am I correct that this ulf will replace the phone module in the boot?

Also, since I already have the original built-in microphone for the phone, will I need to install a new microphone?

Lastly, will it work with the steering wheel buttons?

Thanks.

Nick
