There's a write up in the wiki on here detailing how to do it.

well first many thanks to Adrian Wiggins for is wonderful help.

so you could change easily your old BT Nokia module by a new one (have a look on ebay about 150£ second hand), ask the seller to keep the plug if possible

you have only to connect positive (purple on the new one) and negative (black on the new one) to the new module (power), and the rest is done through the fibre optic
for connect the power have a look at Adrian publication on Wiki / electronics/ replace a bluetooth module with a 2010 unit.
from the old module : positive pin 16, negative pin 33 or 34 RR L322 4.4 TDV8 Vogue

In case anyone else sees this who has the connector like above.

If you take out the wires from the connectors, use a pin to push the 'catch' down and pull the wire out, you can transfer the two wires needed from your old connector.

Wire 33 or 34 is positive on the old connector and that goes to pin 15 on the new connector.

Wire 16 on the old connector is ground and that goes to pin 31 on the new connector.

Slide those into the connector you have making sure the 'catch' is facing the hole if you need to get it out again and you are away. Porsche 911 (996)

I was lucky enough to spot a New Old Stock late Bluetooth Module on ebay just after Christmas (Part No. AH42 10F845 AA ) for less than many were trying to sell S/H units & have just installed it using the Wiki link as a guide.

I was very fortunate that I had an old BMW sound system connector similar to the 1 used with the newer BT modules, so only had to pull the relevant 2 wires / connectors out of the old plug & insert them into the new plug & I was sorted.
I couldn't spot any easy way of fastening the new module in place of the old one - as the shape is different & the connector positions don't suit. So I tie-wrapped the new one in place under the Navigation DVD player & sealed up & fastened the old connector out of the way.
I was surprised the complete job only took 30 mins & I now have access to my phone book & importantly for me where contacts have multiple phone nos (Mobiles, land lines etc), I have access to them all !

I did have 1 shock though. After turning on the ignition after the installation & starting the engine, the message center made a few bongs & told me I only had limited gears & wouldn't let me out of Park Crying or Very sad .
I wondered what I'd messed up, but then just turned everything off & re-started the engine & the fault had gone, everything seems OK Very Happy

NB : As far as I could make out from the many forum posts discussing this mod, there are 2 different Part Nos which are suitable : AH42 10F845 AA (which I used) & 8H42 10F845 AA.
If anyone knows different please correct me. Paul,

Does the later module have expanded functionality? I see most ads post the module with "Central locking unit" as description. 2007 L322 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway

The later part (part no. as above) gives you access to your mobile phones phonebook via Bluetooth & will show all phone nos if you have multiple nos for the same person.
It won't deal with text messages though. Paul,

Thanks Paul,

I'll give it a shot, then.
The old one worked just fine until I opened it to check for water ingress (slight evidence of such on the connector).

By the way, if the BT module fails, it's no problem at all to unclip the individual fiber optic cable from the connector and just move it to the next module in line. I've now removed both the TMC and BT without issued. Though the BT is currently replaced by a mObridge DAB unit. 2007 L322 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway

Has anyone tried to upgrade from the old Nokia style BT unit, mines on a L322 MY07, to the Jaguar version of the 'new' BT module, part number 7G9N-10D893-AG....? It looks identical to the LR part but looks can be deceiving...!

Cheers,
Jon
