Driver door

When I got to work this morning in my 2007 3.6tdv8 the drivers door would not open, lock opens and closes using key and remote but I cannot open the door using the inside or outside handles, any ideas? Had to climb out through passenger side.

Think it was the lock frozen, went to it an hour or so later and it worked normally.
Thanks.
