Over the last couple of days my 2011 4.4 TDV8 wouldn't start. When I pressed the button it just went "click".
Reading posts on the forum I'm thinking battery, starter button, brake pedal switch, relay, fuse, electrical contacts and starter motor.

The battery is new and it started perfectly well the day before so I had a read up in the 20110-2012 workshop manual and found an interesting tip.

Jiggle the steering wheel to take the pressure off the electronic steering lock.

I did this and hey presto it started immediately.

I suppose it is a bit like when you have a steering column ignitition key switch which is also the steering lock and you can't turn the key unless you jiggle the steering wheel except in this case the lock is electronic.

Hopefully this may help someone else before they start spending money. It was certainly a big relief to me!  2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

Carpcat - I downloaded the workshop manual after a few forum members colluded to pay and download sections of it from TOPIX and put it all together. I'm not sure what happened to it. Have you looked on wiki?
