conversation assist on the reference 1700w Meridian system.

My understanding was that the meridian reference sound system came with a feature called conversation assist. It talks about it in my owners hand book and can be seen in topix references, but I can't find the menu options to adjust in my car for it.

Does anyone know if it is a dealer switch on or perhaps country based feature or was only avail from a certain MY?

thanks.

Is it not under “Voice” when you go into Setup?

no it's not. I think "voice" setting is for the say what you see command/feedback.

According to my owners handbook, It should be under touch screen set up as per the photo but I only see the first 4 items.

I know there was a services bulletin about it too as it could cause some issues.

So I'm trying to work out if -
a) my car never had it (despite having the reference system - so not sure why not) or
b) it was never a UK "thing" - perhaps someone else who has the reference system can check their menu for me
c) my car does have it but for some reason it has been disable/switched off by LR sometime in the past.

thanks.

I have the meridian reference sound in my lwb rr and they informed me this was part of the lwb arrangement, they did explain how to switch on and off (think different levels), but was collecting the car at factory and they were explaining a lot!, will check in the morning to see about the options screens, you can also tell if you tap near the upper handle passenger side rear, as this is where the mic is located ........

ok thanks, yours has the newer (2017) user interface than mine - my menu system is different.

I've played around with every option and can't find anything related to conversation assist so I can only assume that for some reason mine doesn't have it or it has been disabled previously for some reason Sad

Its quite frustrating as I understood it to be a standard function of anyone who has the 1700w Reference system. Sad
oh well.

I’ve got a MY16 with (old style) infotainment system.

I do have conversation assist. It’s accessed by presssing the settings (hard) button on the dash. I then get a screen showing “screen, system, voice, audio” vertically listed down the left hand side. The right hand side of the screen is for conversation assist and 3 buttons where you can choose the level of assistance.

Just for completeness I have the Meridian reference audio.

Hope this helps. 2016 SDV8 AB

It really is a useless feature, and when it is on you get weird echo's from people in the back seat etc. Thought I was going potty until I discovered what was causing it! Turn it off.
