Flip key

Hi and a Merry Xmas to everybody.
I have just received a flip key replacement for the old lollipop style for my l322. After programming the key and using my old transponder in the new key and getting the blade cut, everything was working well, doors opened and closed correctly, engine starts etc. However, this morning as I drove to the shops, I noticed that the stereo was dropping out every few seconds, considering it was ok yesterday, I assumed that the new key was at fault. I tried the old key and all was fine with the stereo. Does anyone know how I can solve this?

I’ve just bought the same one did you have to remove a blank transponder before putting in yours?

I will swap spare transponder over and try it and will let you know if it messes with anything.

Merry Xmas

Crisis averted, it turns out that I hadn’t placed the transponder close enough to the blade end of the flip key. The car was therefore only receiving an intermittent signal causing all the fuss. I have now put the transponder in the gap right next to the blade and all is now well Thumbs Up The new key is excellent, much better than the original.

Hi Steve, the new flip key didn’t have a transponder in it. I used the one out of my original key

Any idea who would cut a key in Kent?

I tried the Maidstone LR dealer and the parts person almost laughed off his chair. Rolling with laughter Haven't seen one of those keys in years, no we don't cut them, no I have no idea who would cut them for you. You will have to go to a specialist. So a dealer is not a specialist then........
