Scotland 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Winter 1946/47 was interesting. Worst winter I have experienced in UK. Remember going to school wading through snowdrifts. Nothing unusual about that but we wore shorts. Shocked Your first pair of long trousers was grey flannel when you got to 14 years of age not before. It was a rite of passage. Smile John

You can own and drive the best 4x4 in the world but If all the traffic in front of you is stuck then you're going nowhere also.

That’s been my experience. Snow is rare here, but we get it and everything stops. I hate taking the FFRR out in it because the number of fender benders with even a light dusting of snow is epic. Back in Ontario, people had snow tyres and knew how to drive in winter. Municipalities also had more than one snow plow...

They're not invincible though, I was on the M62 about 10 years ago, blowing a blizzard coming over the top heading towards Manchester, lane 1 was Ok because of the amount of traffic keeping it fairly clear, lanes 2 & 3 had a good covering of snow, we're doing about 25-30 mph when some tool in a FF comes past in lane 2 doing about 40-45

I watched with my mouth wide open as he went past, about a mile up the road I went past him again only this time he was facing the wrong way with the nearside caved in on the crash barrier, luckily he hadn't hit anybody else just had to suffer the humiliation of thousands of drivers laughing as they went past
